Back in 2013 a buddy of mine asked me to help him renovate a majority of his newly purchased home. The house was built in 1953 and possibly had some renovations done in 1982 (found an old newspaper in the wall). One of the major jobs was a complete gut and reno of the first floor full bathroom. We noticed once we pulled the tile off the wall there was a significant mold issue. I assume this was because the tub was not set properly and there was no moisture barrier in place.
